The time has come
In order to achieve the fixed energy-saving targets, the requirements for light sources and the control gears needed for them have increased. The legal basis is the Ecodesign Regulation (EU) 2019/2020 - also known as the Single Lighting Regulation (SLR) - published in December 2019. Lamps and luminaires that do not meet the minimum efficiency thresholds will no longer be placed on the market. The so-called phase-out will take place in stages. However, goods that are already on the market may be sold and lamps that have been purchased may continue to be used.
Many conventional lamps may therefore no longer be placed on the market because they consume too much energy. Mercury-containing compact fluorescent lamps have already been affected since 25 February 2023. T8 and T5 fluorescent lamps will also be banned from 25 August 2023. And from 1 September 2023, most types of halogen lamps that are currently still permitted will be discontinued.
So it is time to look at the stock of luminaires in the examination and treatment areas and, if necessary, to purchase new LED products from Derungs.
